Meet Kari

'Kari's hands shook and goosebumps quickly rose as she read the recent note. Behind it was a picture of Kari's latest ultrasound with a big pink heart drawn around it. To Kari, this was the last straw.'

Kari has finally overcome a difficult obstacle in her life and is ready to move on. With an upcoming pregnance and marriage insight, nothing seems to be able to stop Kari and her wonderful life. Or so you think..

Veteran's Day

November 11. Veteran's Day.
Ever since I was little, Veteran's Day was a day that we got out of class to sit in the gym and listen to old men talk about the 'ole glory' days.  It's never really hit me about what it means because I don't know anyone close that has ever served for our country..
Well a couple of days ago a 'new' friend of mine informed me that he enlisted in the army.. He will graduate in May and then onto basic training.. Just for the fact that he's going to be gone and I won't be able to text or call him whenever I want to is going to be hard.. I still have until May to spend time with him and make more memories but it won't be the same.. I promised him, I wouldn't leave him alone and the terrible fear that surrounds him. I also told him that I would write so he'd have a buddy and wouldn't be alone.  :)

Toy Story 3

The long awaited sequel to Toy Story as finally arose.  The comical and teasing movie is an epic.

Growing up with Toy Story, from the start you loved Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Who couldn't? From Little Bo Peep to Slinky Dog, you immediately fall in love with the characters which make up a brilliant movie.  When the time comes for Andy to go off to college the decision with what to do with his old toys are up in the air.  Putting it off and putting if off the movie starts off with the toys being 'accidentally' sent to daycare. The daycare (gawd forbid) contains dirty, smelly children who, in our eyes, abuse the toys.  The other toys that live there seem very nice and friendly at first.  But Andy's toys come to find out, that they are not.  Parts of the daycare scenes, I really didn't care for.  Some of them were too long drawn out and others were just kind of useless.

Near the end of the movie, the toys end up in a dump.  With the very last thread of hope to save them from the firey furneance gone, who will save them? Will they live? Or is the last place they will be together forever?..Watch it and find out! :)

Disney Pixar did an A.Mazing job once again making this movie.  I saw it the very first night it came out and I was very well pleased with it.  They incorporated a lot of elements from the first and second movie.  I know if I were to watch it again, I could probably find more that I missed.  By the way, if you go and watch it sometime make sure you watch the credits. They show some funny bloopers and at the very end they show a scene that's hysterically funny! :)

The Three Munchkins (:

Tonight is the last night of Mom and Dad's Dynamic Marriage class and the last tuesday night I'll have to watch the girls.  I already had plans for tonight but when I stop and think about how much I actually spend time with the girls, it doesn't bother me as much to dismiss those plans.  I'm thinking about taking the girls out to the park and then to see Noah and Aves but I don't know if Mom and Dad will let me.  If they don't, I'll just take them down to the lake and we'll have a picnic. :)  I think I'll try to see if they'll let me take pictures too!

Brittany (:

Last night I convinced Brittany to let me take pictures of her! She's so easy to work with. I love her genuine smile. The thing is though, I can't even tell she's my sister half the time.

What Happened to When We Were Kids..

when we spent the afternoon making creations out of play dough..

lollipops being our favorite candy?..

the only high was when we were swinging on the swing..

When we'd fight with our best friend and then the next we were friends again..
Cooties were the only things you'd get from the opposite sex..
Not noticing that your best friend wore glasses and not being judge mental..

What happened?..

Shift Happens

These are the questions to the video we watched.

1. The fact that 34 babies are born every 8 seconds..That is insane..
2. Yes I think we do.
3. As a student, I don't think I am.  I don't think Pike Central prepares us enough to enter college. There isn't enough variety of classes to choose from and so many teachers slack off at teaching us.  A lot of teachers also don't incorporate technology and other things that we are going to experience in college.
4.I think they need to incorporate more technology and different learning and teaching techniques.  They just teach the same way they have for the past 40 years..
5. I think they should use more laptops and different websites to teach us things.  In some of the health classes they could use Youtube to show videos of real life things to put things in perspective for that student.  Because sometimes its hard for me to understand what that teacher is really talking about until I see in real life what they mean.
6. Some of the teachers are weary about giving up the way that they have taught for some many years and don't want to learn something new so they can teach better. (they're lazy..)  The advantages would be students would be more prepared for college and even if they didn't go to college but straight to a job, they would be more prepared and confident about what they were doing.

Twiggy (:

Twiggy was an English model known for her androgynous looks, long eyelashes, large eyes, and thin build.  She was named 'The Face of 1966' by Daily Express and also voted British Woman of the Year in 1966.  Twiggy has always said that her greatest influence was Jean Shrimpton.  It has been said that Twiggy was Jean's successor.

This is the photo that started it all.. (:

Even though it is so simple, I really like it. (:

The head wrap is awesome! (:

Dress Up (:

I love dressing Lauren and Brittany up in clothes and then taking pictures of them!  I have so much fun with it.  But last night I took the photos of Lauren (see below) and had very many difficulties.  First off, I think you should beware the my camera that I have is a hand me down from my mom because I'm saving up for a nice one.  Well this camera is a Kodak and I stronly dislike Kodak cameras.  They're a piece of junk!  Well before my mom got a new camera and gave me this old one, Dad broke the cover to the battery compartment so the batteries do not stay in unless you hold it or put tape over it.  Well there was no tape to be found anywhere in the house so I had to put bandaids on it to hold it together.. After I'm outside and have Lauren all situated and while I go to take the first photo, the batteries go dead.. I run back in the house and look and look for AA batteries. You know my luck, there is none anywhere.  Ding!  The Wii remotes use AA batteries. :) A solution to my problem. Or so I thought.. It seemed like all the stupid batteries would only last about 3 photos or so and then die.  Rip off the bandaid, switch the batteries, and slap the bandaids back on.  I believe I did that like 6 times or so.  So guess what I'm going to be doing in the next or so?? I think I'm going to buy me a 'great' camera.  It's called investing, Mom. :)

Inspiration :)

I love looking through Vogue! Gives me inspiration and lots of ideas for photos.

Vintage fashion ads are always fun to look at. Especially the ones from the 1950's like the one above. The colors they used always seemed to pop off the page.  Just looking at this gives me an idea! :)

This is a photo from Vogue in 1951. I love how they captured the different patterns.  The photo is so simple but it screams inspiration.

What do you see when you look at this photo?..  I see a blonde headed girl wearing a pink frilly top standing in a field of grass on a sunny day..

This photo of Audrey Hepburn is simple but elegant at the same time. I really like it. (:

I Need To Start Running Again. . .

The last time I have ran is Regional night of track.  And that was back in May.. I keep saying I'm going to run, I'm going to run but then I never do. I don't know if it's just a lack of dedication or what.  But I guess I sorta lied earlier to you. Because the night of Regionals I just ran like a couple of warm up laps around the track.  The last time I ran over three miles was over a year ago.. And I'm blushing just typing that. I can tell I'm out of shape. I really need to start running because I want to build my muscle back up so when track starts in the spring I'll be beastly! haha jk

I think I'm going to start a pact to start running.  And if I don't run, I'll face some sort of consequences. haha

Powder Puff Football

Last night was the big game of the year!  Freshman, Sophmore, Junior, and Senior girls battled it out on the football field vieing to be crowned the Champions.  Who won, you ask?  Well, the Juniors did of course :) Yes, we dominated.  We played the freshman first and they didn't even score! :)  So after we played the freshman we had a short break. We were all hot and sweaty so all of us went down to where they were selling concessions to get something to quench our thirst.  And guess what?  Spanish club was out of beverages!! By the time they got drinks back, I could have went home and got something.  But I live only like a minute away or less.  But anywhoo.  So the championship game started and we were pumped.  We were not about to let some little Sophmores to stop us from winning.  A few curse words were exhanged, people were tackled, anger was spiked, and we were all sweaty.  After all of that and some few other events, the Juniors were victorious!! We had our picture taken holding the Powder Puff Football helment and bragging rights until next year.  But I predict we're going to win next year too. :)

Me :)

Hi! My name is Breanna and this is my blog.  If you haven't noticed by the title of my blog, I'm a runner.  I run Track and Cross Country.  Photography is my other favorite thing.  So guess what!  This blog is going to be about running, photography, and everything in between. :)

When I'm not doing one of those two things, I'm hanging out with friends and/or family, working, or just chilling. I love to go shopping, browse downtown of big cities, lay in the bed of a truck and watch the stars, four-wheeler riding, and so much more.  So if this intrigues you, you should follow my blog and keep up to date on a runner that loves photography :)
